Warm Audio WA73-EQ Microphone Preamp & EQ Review

Quick Overview

The Warm Audio WA73 is a single-channel British mic preamp known for its classic Neve 1073-style sound. It offers a straightforward and flexible EQ, ultra-low noise floor, and the ability to function as a line level source. The unit’s sonic signature closely compares to the classic 1073, making it a great choice for those seeking the thick Neve sound without breaking the bank. However, it’s important to note that the WA73 may not be suitable for those accustomed to the exact sound of a classic Neve 1073 preamp, as there are subtle differences. Additionally, some users have noted that the unit lacks warranty information and a manual in the box. Despite these considerations, the WA73 is praised for its tone depth and imaging, making it a great addition to any recording setup.
